Specialist, PR

We are looking for a PR specialist to join our Brand and PR team. In this role, you will be planning and producing impactful communications for our international media and influencer target audiences. You will work collaboratively across teams to strengthen Helsinki’s global image and ensure consistent, high-quality communications.

 

Role and responsibilities:

  • Support in implementing our overall PR plan for our international media and influencer target audiences

  • Writing and distribution of press releases, newsletters and other PR content

  • Media monitoring

  • Identifying potential PR angles and pitching topics to the media

  • Support in coordinating PR activities as part of our brand marketing campaigns

  • Support in hosting international media and influencers visiting Helsinki

Job requirements

Requirements

 

  • At least 2 years of experience in PR and media relations.

  • A curious mind interested in staying up to date with the latest news, as well as societal and cultural discussions and phenomena in our target markets.

  • Has a genuine passion for our quirky beloved Helsinki and finding new and interesting angles to tell the city’s story to international media.

  • Has hands-on experience in media relations – from writing press releases and newsletters to planning and pitching topics to the media.

  • A skilled writer, who already has some experience of writing different kinds of content for various company channels.

  • Has excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

  • Is comfortable using a variety of PR tools and platforms (e.g. Cision, Meltwater, HubSpot or equivalent CRM system).

 

In your role, you would be working in the Visitor and Talent Attraction Unit, and you would report to Head of Brand and PR. This is a fixed-term position until 31 May 2027, with the possibility of extension. Our working language is English. The position will be filled as soon as possible, and is full-time.
